No One Should End the Journey of Life Alone, Afraid or in Pain
Nathan Adelson Hospice (NAH) is the only nonprofit hospice in Southern Nevada. Hospice is not a place but rather a philosophy that focuses on the well-being of the whole person. NAH's care addresses the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of its patients and their loved ones. Consistent with its mission as a nonprofit organization, NAH never turns anyone away because of an inability to pay. NAH is proud to provide more than $1 million in uncompensated care each year. Other philanthropically supported programs of the hospice include the following:
Elaine Wynn Palliative Care Program
Palliative Care improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing progressive advanced illness through the prevention and relief of suffering. Unlike hospice, palliative care is available at any stage of a serious illness and can be provided together with curative treatment. The program provides an interdisciplinary approach to care coordination.
Bonnie Schreck Memorial Complementary Therapies Program
Research studies have documented that complementary therapies reduce stress and anxiety, and decrease depression. Various therapies and techniques are available such as massage, Reiki, reflexology, aromatherapy, art therapy, music and pet therapy.
Camp Erin®
Camp Erin is a special bereavement camp for children and teens who have experienced the death of someone close to them. The fun, familiar environment of camp is combined with planned activities that give youth a chance to honor their loved ones, express their feelings and make lasting friendships. Camp Erin provides a unique opportunity for peer bonding between children and teens facing a similar life circumstance.
